ZBA Administrative Meeting Minutes

Date:  6/16/15
Hearing began at: 2:45pm

Members Present:  Jonathan Levin, Chair, Robert Lazzarini, Stanley Ross, Susan Cooper and Fred Chapman

The Board met to discuss the following administrative items:
  • The Board welcomed new member Susan Cooper.
  • The Board discussed rotating the Chair position and Clerk.  Stan made a motion to nominate Jon as the Chair.  The motion was seconded and passed with 4 yea votes and one abstention.  Stan offered to be the Clerk.  A motion was made to nominate Stan as the Clerk which was seconded and unanimously approved.
  • Discussion ensued about adding a blurb to the application which states that by signing the application you are acknowledging and approving the members of the ZBA to make an external site visit prior to the hearing.  The suggestion was approved unanimously.
  • The Board reviewed a deficient application that was submitted and determined that in order for it to be considered a complete application additional documents will need to be submitted.
  • Discussion ensued about which member would continue the pre-vetting process of applications submitted for completeness and it was suggested that Jon continue as he has done such a great job.
  • The Board discussed a condition that had been placed on the special permit granted for KSA that stated an additional hearing would’ve been held within a year to reassess the impact of the noise from events on the neighborhood.  M. Noe was asked to check with the Chief of Police and Building Inspector to see if any complaints have been received in the last 2 years.
